We’re so excited to share Tiffany and Jimmy’s Lodge at Little Seneca Creek from Rebekah J. Murry wedding with you all today! The wedding is low key yet still filled with gorgeous rustic details. Between the dress, the details and the vintage VW Bug, it feels like we pulled this wedding right out of the 1960′s. And We just can’t get over the fact that Tiffany found her beautiful vintage dress for just $100! We may be a little jealous.

DIY – Ring Bearer Pillow

If you’ve seen our about us page, then you know that Natalie’s favorite pattern is seersucker. It’s one of the elements we’re planning to incorporate into her wedding so with the leftover fabric from the DIY Napkins, I decided to make her a little ring bearer pillow.

For the most part, I just followed the basic pillow making process we all learned in middle school, but I’ll document the steps I took here anyways. I hand-sewed the pillow because I don’t like using a sewing machine and because this pillow, while cute, will really only be used for a few minutes during the ceremony so it doesn’t need to be perfect.

Materials

  • Fabric squares (mine were about 10 inches)
  • 1 yard additional fabric for the flower
  • Needle and Thread
  • A little bit of stuffing (You can find it at the fabric store)
  • 1 sheet felt
  • Hot glue gun
  • Ribbon (to hold the rings)

Directions
1. Cut out two fabric squares a few inches larger than the size you would like your pillow to be. Mine were about 10 inches because once you fold over the edges and stuff the pillow, it shrinks quite a bit.
2. Fold the edges over 1/4 inch
3. Iron the folded edges
4. Turn the right sides of the pieces of fabric towards each other and pin the edges together so that the wrong side of the fabric is facing out.
5 and 6. Sew around three full sides and about halfway down the last side.
7. Turn the pillow inside out so the seams are hidden and the right side of the fabric is facing out – then stuff the pillow.
8. Sew up the remaining edge to close off the pillow.
9. Cut out a felt circle slightly smaller than the size of your pillow and hot glue a ribbon to the center.

To make the fabric flower, follow the steps from our DIY Fabric Flower tutorial. You’ll want your small fabric circles to be about 1.5 inches.

10. Hot glue the finished flower to the pillow.
