To finish Military Appreciation Week we have this beautiful wedding from Melissa Barrick Photography! She describes this duo’s wedding perfectly, “John & Alex are the most loving and beautiful couple. They are also quite possibly the nicest people you will ever meet. They both just graduated from the US Naval Academy the weekend of their wedding. Both of them are from the deep south, and that culture was reflected in every part of this wedding! Alex’s attention to the details in this wedding were incredible. She used so many amazing vendors from Etsy to pull off a seamless, cohesive look that was DIY-chic.
The main goal for their wedding was to be as personal as possible. For this reason, Alex and John chose to get married at Trinity United Methodist Church on West Street in Annapolis, instead of the Naval Academy Chapel. It did not disappoint with the bright, natural light that filled the church. They still did the arch of swords, which was my favorite part. Another element to the ceremony which I don’t often see in a Protestant ceremony was communion. John and Alex, after they were officially “married,” served their guests communion. It was the most beautiful way to see each one of their guests, and really symbolize their closeness to their guests.”
