Welcome to Military Appreciation Week! The service members of this country do so much for us we see it fitting that we do a little something to give back to them. So we combined our love for weddings & the patriotic inspiration that come with Independence day for today’s post! With a color palette filled with red, white, and blue + a few unique ideas such as a boat blueprint for guests to sign & an old ammunition box for display drinks and escort cards. We did our best to come up a few new ideas that you might not have considered while thinking of your wedding details!
We realized a while ago that even though there are tons of military weddings each year, especially in Annapolis, there isn’t a whole lot of out there for military inspired weddings. We worked with an incredible team of local vendors (and one adorable couple,) to put together a Patriotic and Navy inspired wedding!

Wendy Wade of Weswen Design put together an amazing invitation suite for us. She also put together a matching escort card that you can download and use at your wedding!
Our guest book table includes lights from Target, lanterns from Pier 1, Ikea frames and a few antique pieces we picked up at Then and Again Antiques.
We created these welcome drink/escort cards from Starbucks Frappichino bottles. We bought the striped straws here, cut out stars and tied them on with twine. We found the antique ammunition container at Then and Again Antiques.

We wanted to do something different for the guest book so we decided to take a blueprint of a vintage Navy Battleship and turn it into something that can be signed. You can download the blueprint here (PDF or JPG) and add your own names and wedding location! (Note – Annapolis Copy and Print is the only printer we know of that can print this size document. We printed ours 36″ wide and 12″ high.)

The Pretty Pixie sent us these adorable cake toppers our way. If you’re really in love with them, stay tuned because if you’re a military bride you’ll have a chance to win them later this week!

The Main Ingredient created this adorable cake!

The wonderful coordinators at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club and Julie of Little House of Flowers helped us put together this table. We love the patriotic inspired flowers paired with the sailing flag from 2Hands Studios!

2Hands Studios sent us these wonderful crab key chains that double as favors and napkin rings!

We love the Navy facts that Weswen Design added to the backs of the table numbers! They make interesting conversation points for guests!

We can’t thank everyone who participated in the shoot enough! Special thanks to Julie Upchurch of Little House of Flowers and Ann Macknovitz for helping us put everything together and Nick and Megan for modeling! All vendors are members in our Vendor Guide.

I love the patriotic theme and I especially love the drinks as place cards. That is important for summer weddings like the one I am starting to plan. Can’t wait to see if my fiance and I win the military weddings contest!
Ahoy! We love your twist on the guest book. And the flags we created look goreous in your centerpieces!
