When we announced that we’ll be speaking at The Borrowed Event a few weeks ago, we loved hearing from other vendors and brides about their interest in attending this bridal expo for the Creative I Do!
It’s going to be an absolutely amazing show and we are excited to announce that this week we are giving away two pairs of tickets to local brides! If you live in the Chesapeake Area or know a bride who does – this is the event that you want to attend!

The Details: Sunday, April 1st 2012 from 1-5pm at the American Visionary Arts Museum in Baltimore!
How to Win A Pair of Free Tickets:

Even though we are still in the early stages of planning, my girlfriend and I are excited for a long engagement, because it is giving us the time to really customize our wedding so all of the elements are completely us. One of our special creative elements is going to be a showcase (of sorts) where our friends and family get to show their love for us and show off their talents. We will be personally asking certain people to perform during this little showcase, which will take place during our reception. It is going to be a great chance for us to relax and laugh (and eat, since my girlfriend refuses to be one of those couples who is too busy to eat at the reception).
Here are some examples of the people we have already asked to be in this and what they will be doing: (1) My lifelong best friend (and bridesmaid!) does stand-up comedy, so she is going to put together an act that incorporates all the silly moments from our friendship and her time knowing my girlfriend and me as a couple. (2) My little sister (and maid of honor!) is a brilliant singer, so she will be performing a song that fits her and my relationship and then a song that fits my girlfriend and me. I also have a few other close friends who are singers and will be singing a song each. (3) My gay best friend, who is an amazing singer, promised at my 17th birthday party that he would sing “My Girl” at my wedding. Even though he lives very far away, he has promised that he will fly to wherever we have the wedding to be there and fulfill this promise. (4) My sorority sisters (although they cannot sing :P) have been practicing the song “That’s What Friends Are For” from the movie Bridesmaids, so they all can sing it together. I know it’s going to be a laugh-until-I-cry moment. (5) My girlfriend and her friends always go to karaoke together, so her friend group will be singing at least a few hilarious songs. I have a feeling my girlfriend will get up and join them. I hope that happens, because nothing makes me smile more than watching her have fun and act silly.
I know that was a long response, but I am very excited for this part of my wedding and excited to get to share it with you! :) Thank you for listening!
Dan and I have been engaged since may of last year! It has been a wonderfully long engagement and we can not wait to get married till August of this year! We are bringing two families together one from maryland and one from kentucky. With that we are melding those two states together in our wedding. Bourbon bottle centerpieces from kentucky, black eyed susans from maryland. Kentucky blue is the main color with the accent of Kelly (Irish) green to back dan’s irish heritage. Through all of this I have a very creative mother, and DIY sister who are bringing their sewing and creative styles into the wedding as well. I love the idea of all the local companies we are using and trying to keep the food, flowers, invitations, outfits all local! It has been so much fun to bring all the local flare to the wedding! I am hoping to win the giveaway for the Borrowed Event so Dan and I can scope out some more local love for maryland and pull more local flare into our wedding! Hoping we get picked!
Thanks for reading and thanks for the giveaway! :)
